Yes. We offer self-service scanning with our multifunctional photocopier/printing device. Scanning is free of charge. Simply bring in your USB or ask our staff to temporarily borrow one.
The Research Library's stack collection is a storage facility located downstairs in the cultural collections where we place books that are not frequently used or are duplicates.

No. Due to our licensing agreement, access to Ancestry Library edition is restricted to on-premises use only at the Parramatta Heritage Centre Research Library.
No. We are a reference library. All our books and resources are 'not for loan' to the public. We do offer photocopying and scanning facilities as an alternative
To access books from our stack collection, please contact the Library in advance to set up an appointment during business operating hours - Tuesday, Thursday or Friday 10:00am to 2:00pm.
We are located beside the historic Lennox Bridge a short 10 minute walk from Parramatta Station and River Cat ferry wharf. The Research team provides a great general introduction to the Parramatta area as well as in depth research and primary resources relating to Parramatta and the broader Western Sydney. Many of these are available on this website while original objects, texts, family history records and maps can be viewed at our research library. You can also visit the centre to participate in events and education programs linked to its collections. If you have something you would like to know and can’t find it on our website, ask us a question using the above form.

In response to the NSW Government’s staged easing of COVID-19 restrictions, City of Parramatta is reopening it’s Research Library Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10am to 3pm.
