Welcome to A-Z Things @ Parramatta

A-Z Things @ Parramatta

Welcome to Things @ Parramatta where we explore the A to Z of Parramatta Heritage Centre’s Cultural Collections!

This series is all about sharing some of our treasured objects that are just like the everyday objects you might find in your own home. It comprises a selection of 26 artefacts from the Cultural Collections, each starting with a different letter of the alphabet!

Each episode, a 'mystery' object is revealed along with its unique story about its significance and relationship to Parramatta. A clue is then released to help you guess the next 'mystery' object. Each episode will be released fortnightly so stay tuned for the clues!

After each episode, I would love you to share a special object or collection of your own that starts with the relevant letter of the alphabet. This can be written text, video and/or image, which you can email to localstudies@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au

Our repository is home to a wonderful and varied collection of Archaeology, Artworks, Civic and Ceremonial Gifts and Culturally Significant Objects.

I hope you enjoy hearing the wonderful stories behind the objects and feel more connected to your cultural heritage and community afterwards.

Can you guess the mystery objects? Each episode will be released fortnightly so stay tuned for the clues!
