Rydalmere is a residential suburb located approximately 3 kilometres east of Parramatta to the north of Parramatta River, and is surrounded by the suburbs of Camellia, Ermington and Dundas. The roads and streets which form its boundaries include Silverwater Road, Calder Road, Railway Street and Ulm Street. It is part of the Rosehill Ward of the City of Parramatta, and the suburb was assigned its name by the Geographical Names Board on the 19 January 2007.

Chudleigh passed away on the 10 May 1983, aged 88 at Dee Why. |

Clarke Street |
Named after Reverend William Branwhite Clarke who was a master at the Kings School Parramatta and later became famous as the Father of Geology in Australia. In 1832 it was determined a volcanic plug of columnar basalt found in the valley was suitable for road building and the Dundas Quarry known as the Pennant Hills Quarry was established. Convicts mined the ‘blue metal’ and it was transported to the Ermington Warf and sent to Sydney by boat. The minerals were unusual and attracted the interest of many noted geologists such as Charles Dana, Sir Paul Edmund de Strzelecki, and the Reverend William Branwhite Clarke. |

Named after James Henry Crowgey, a poultry farmer on Victoria Road, Rydalmere, N.S.W. and former alderman of the Municipality of Ermington and Rydalmere, representing the Rydalmere ward from 1921 to 1925. Crowgey died suddenly on the 6 August 1940 at West Park, Adelaide, South Australia, aged 74. He was survived by his wife Lillian Crowgey. |

Fallon Street |
Named after Andrew Fallon who was Town Clerk of the Municipality of Ermington and Rydalmere from November 1937, until his resignation due to ill health in April 1947. Andrew Fallon had served with the A.I.F during the war and had been a staunch worker for the Parramatta-Macarthur R.S.L. for many years. Mr Fallon died in June 1947 and his funeral was attended by many representatives of the council. |

Named after former alderman and mayor Nelson Kirby of the Municipality of Ermington and Rydalmere. Kirby was one of the six aldermen first elected to the newly incorporated Municipality of Ermington and Rydalmere following its separation from the Borough of Dundas on the 18 June 1891. Kirby served as mayor from the 25 February 1893 to the 13 February 1895, and then was town clerk from the 1 March 1898 to the 19 May 1899. |

Marri Badoo Reserve is bounded by Park Road, Bennetts Road West and Kirby Street, Rydalmere. Marri Badoo is a local Aboriginal name, meaning many waters in the local Darug language and recognises the chain of ponds and springs that flow through the reserve to form The Ponds Creek, Subiaco Creek and their tributaries. |

Primrose Avenue |
Named after Eric Aubrey Primrose, alderman of the Municipality of Ermington and Rydalmere, representing the Ermington ward from 1944 to 1948 and Mayor from December 1945 to the 31 December 1948. Following the amalgamation and incorporation of the Parramatta City Council, Primrose continued to represent the Ermington and Rydalmere ward from 1948 to 1953. Eric Primrose Reserve is also named after him. Primrose died suddenly on the 5 March 2004, aged 94. He was a late resident of Winston Hills, formerly of Normanhurst and Pymble NSW. |

Silverwater Road |

Stanley Lane |
Like Woodward Street, Stanley Lane is named after Stanley Woodward, an early resident of the area. Woodward was a native of Picton and one of five sons of Mr Francis John and Selina Woodward of later Dundas. He was a poultry farmer who resided at [later 351-353] Kissing Point Road, Ermington with his wife Gladys Edna Woodward nee Wilkinson, (1904-1961). Having been in the area for nearly 20 years, he was elected alderman of the Municipality of Ermington and Rydalmere Council from 1937 (after the resignation of Alderman Alfred Edward Maling) to 1944 representing the Ermington ward. In December 1939, he and Alderman John William Canice Dorahy were tied in the votes for Mayor, but through a novel drawing of the hats, won the "I am the Mayor" seat. Dorahy in another draw won the "I am deputy mayor" seat. Woodward's term as mayor lasted one year and ended in December 1940. On the 15 October 1979, Stanley Woodward passed away, late of Castle Hill, aged 90. He was survived by his son John, daughter-in-law Anne Lesley and grandchildren. |
