Heritage Collection Services

The City of Parramatta Heritage Collections Services manage and provide access to heritage archives and cultural collections relating to Parramatta’s Local Government Area.

The Heritage Collection Services team is passionate about gathering, preserving and sharing the history and heritage of our dynamic river city at the centre of global Sydney – that is Parramatta.

We collect and care for council and community archives, civic and cultural objects, archaeological artefacts and a collection of mixed media material. 

Local Studies and Family History

Our Research Library houses a broad range of books, newspapers, reports and microfilm.

The Local Studies and Family History Library is located on Level 2 of PHIVE.

Opening hours:
Monday to Thursday: 9am – 8pm 
Friday to Sunday: 9am – 5pm 
Closed Public Holidays
